Oral, maxillofacial and salivary gland surgery unit
The Oral, Maxillofacial and Salivary Gland Surgery Unit was established to provide a professional and prompt solution, for a variety of oral and maxillofacial diseases, which dictate close relationships with the E.N.T professionals.
This unit specializes in endoscopic and micro surgery of the salivary glands, and reconstruction of the nerves of the tongue and lip following trauma.
The unit also specializes in treating deformities and tumors of the facial bones and jaws that were formed due to trauma, severe diseases and genetic reasons. The treatments are supported by the state of the art technology, and include, as appropriate, implants that were individually tailored to the patient’s face and printed in a three-dimensional printer. In addition, the unit performs orthognathic surgeries and reshaping of the jaw, facial bone reconstruction and eye orbital reconstruction, surgical extractions, removal of laryngeal lesions, etc.
Globally renowned in his field, Prof. Nahlieli’s inventions are considered groundbreaking in the area of salivary gland treatment, where he developed micro-surgical techniques that include a lithotripter, a series of endoscopic surgeries and implants. Thanks to the development of the world smallest micro endoscope by Prof. Nahlieli, many salivary duct stones are removed using shockwave lithotripsy, without the need for external scissions, thus eliminating the need for many resections.
